
Mr. Schwendenwien, a resident of Glendale, CA,
has exhibited his pop art drawings and paintings
at galleries and museums nationwide since 1980.
His first solo exhibition "Popman" was held in 1989
at the Hal Bromm Gallery in New York City.
His work has also been included in group shows
at Andre Zarre Gallery in New York City,
the Wexner Center for the Arts in Ohio,
and the Katonah Museum of Art in New York state.
As a journalist, Mr. Schwendenwien's articles
have been published internationally for such publications
as "ELLE," "Artforum," "Village Voice," "Artscribe International,"
and the "Hartford Courant" since 1987.
As a performer, he presented monologues as the
"illegitimate son of Mama Cass" at such NYC venues
as the Gas Station and the Knitting Factory.
He is currently developing a follow-up photo
exhibit documenting the 1990's,
as well as a new film project to be produced by his
production company Type-A Productions.
